Water and salt homeostasis is of fundamental importance to the human body. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the research at the Water and Salt Research Center aims for a better understanding of how water and salt homeostasis is maintained in normal and pathophysiological conditions.

The Water and Salt Research Center was established in 2001 by the Danish National Research Foundation and located at University of Aarhus.

The management of the research center is Professor Søren Nielsen, Professor Jørgen Frøkiær, Professor Christian Aalkjær, Professor Jens Leipziger, Associate professor Jeppe Prætorius, Associate professor Helle A. Prætorius, Assistant professor Sebastian Frische and Assistant professor Robert A. Fenton.
